George Sisson was named the Director of Athletics and Recreation during the fall semester of 2018.

Sisson oversees all 15 athletic programs provided at JCC as well as the Total Fitness program.

During his time as Director of Athletics, Sisson has overseen the implementation of six sports programs, including the men's and women's cross country teams and eSports programs at the Cattaraugus Campus along with the rejuvenation of the men's and women's swimming & diving and softball teams.

Within the region, Sisson serves in multiple sports committees, including baseball, golf, and soccer, and is the Vice Chair for Division II basketball.

On the national level, Sisson serves on the tournament committee for the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship which has been held at the Chautauqua Golf Course since 2000.

George has also worked tirelessly on bringing the NJCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship in the spring of 2022.

Before being named the Director of Athletics and Recreation, Sisson became the Jayhawks men's basketball coach in 2015, after serving formerly as the women's basketball coach.

The 2015-2016 season saw coach Sisson take the Jayhawks to the NJCAA Region III Division II Championship game.

Coach Sisson also had three players named to All-Region Teams and one player named to the DII All-American Team.

Sisson was the assistant coach of the JCC men's basketball team from fall of 2004 to spring of 2009 and also coached men's basketball for six years as an assistant coach and eight years as head coach at Roberts Wesleyan College.

While at Roberts Wesleyan, Sisson led the team to four national championships.

He also coached at NCAA school Eastern Nazarene College.

Sisson was assistant general manager of the New York-Penn League Jamestown Jammers baseball program from 2002 to 2008 and became director of stadium operations for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in Springdale, Arkansas, in 2009.

He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport.
