Jayhawks Compete at WNYAC Meet

BATAVIA – In their final meet of the semester, the Jamestown Community College men's swimming & diving team competed at the WNYAC Meet hosted by Genesee Community College Wednesday evening.

 

The Jayhawks were led by sophomore Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) who finished with a trio of second place finishes. Carlson swam a time of 2:03.62 in the 200 yard freestyle, 24.41 in the 50 yard freestyle, and 54.38 100 yard freestyle.

 

Josh Carr (Wigan, England/Standish Community HS) continues to improve his times as the season progresses, swimming a personal best in all three events competed in. Carr posted a time of 28.85 in the 50 yard freestyle, 40.67 in the 50 yard breaststroke, and 1:10.78 in the 100 yard freestyle.

 

Gavin Roux (East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa/Selborne College) made his debut in the pool, competing in the 50 yard freestyle (30.34), 100 yard freestyle (1:15.06), and 50 yard backstroke (43.08).

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action on January 14th as they host the JCC Invitational with a 1 p.m. start.
