Johnson Takes 3rd in 200 Butterfly; JCC Men Sit 4th After Day One of the Snow Flurry Invitational

CORTLAND, NY - Jamestown Community College men's swimming and diving sits fourth after day one of the Snow Flurry Invitational at SUNY Cortland.

Maxim Johnson (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa / King Edward VII School) had the best individual result of the day for the Jayhawks, bringing home 3rd in the 200-yard butterfly, just a few seconds off the leader's pace.

In the 200-yard IM, Toby Gifford (Frewsburg, NY / Frewsburg HS) took 13th to earn four points.

Moving over to 50-yard freestyle, Brady Lindstrom (Lakewood, NY / Southwestern Central School) placed 9th, Rinat Kalimullin (Kazan, Russia / Boarding Lyceum NO. 7) 18th, Lukas Baer (Jamestown, NY / Maple Grove Central) 19th, Colton Schuman (Allegany, NY / Allegany-Limestone HS) 23rd, and Randall Hall 25th.

Switching to the distance swims, Steve Zentz (Dunkirk, NY / Dunkirk HS) finished 12th with a time of 5:40:42.

The Jayhawks fared better with the group of Lindstrom, Gifford, Johnson, and Zentz earning 7th and Hall, Kalimullin, Schumjan, and Baer 9th.

The team is right back in the pool on Saturday as they finish up the invite.
