Jayhawks Downed By Sullivan County At Murph Shapiro Classic

ROCHESTER - After a six-day break from their previous game, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team was downed by Sullivan County Community College Saturday afternoon by a score of 68-41 at the Murph Shapiro Classic hosted by Monroe Community College.

 

The Jayhawks (2-2) were led offensively by freshman forward Grace Lundmark (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) with 14 points while sophomore forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) added eight points while grabbing 14 rebounds (4 offense, 10 defense).

 

JCC went 19-for-54 (35.2 percent) from the floor with SCCC going 31-for-64 (48.4 percent) from the field. Both teams were even on the glass, grabbing 31 rebounds apiece. The Generals did control the inside game, scoring 41 points in the paint to the Jayhawks' 12 points.

 

The Jayhawks will have a quick turnaround as they face Lackawanna College tomorrow, November 13th, for day two of the Murph Shapiro Classic at 12 p.m.
