Jayhawks Dominate Early and Often

The JCC Jayhawks women's basketball team (3-4) hosted the Commodores of Lorain County Community College.  The Commodores scored the first points of the game taking a 2-0 lead but then the Jayhawks unleashed their devastating 3 point shots and quickly jumped out to a 12 to 2 lead and when the first period ended the Jayhawks held a comfortable 17-7 lead.  The second period saw the Jayhawks jump out ot a 23-7 lead but then the Commodores went on a run and at the end of the first half of play the lead had been reduced to Jayhawks 28, Commodores 21.  With momentum seemingly on their side, the Commodores came out flat and the Jayhawks came out hot as the third period ended with the Jayhawks holding a commanding 43 – 26 lead.  The fourth period did not see the Jayhawks let up, as bench players kept the momentum going as the Jayhawks downed the Commodores 60-40.    

The Jayhawks were led by #22 Jada Jackson (Wellsboro) who had a double double of 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 steals; #4 Emilee Sperry (Panama) had 9 points and 7 rebounds; #11 Hayden Burgeson (Lakewood) had 9 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals; #34 Kaleigh Brunswick (South Dayton) had 8 points and 3 rebounds; #24 Kelly Keefe (Jamestown) had 7 points; #33 Brianne Davis (Bemus Point) had 6 points and 4 rebounds; #30 Natalie Houle (Sherman) and #50 Quinn Bankoski (Dunkirk) had 3 points each; and #20 Sydney Wight (Wellsville) had 4 rebounds.
