Jayhawks Fall to the Thunderwolves in the Region 3 Championship Game

SANBORN - In the NJCAA Region 3 Women's Basketball Championship game, Jamestown Community College fell to Niagara County Community College, 99-72, Saturday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (3-8, 1-4 WNYAC) were led offensively by freshman guard Kate Tedquist (Penrose, CO/Canon City HS) with 20 points with freshman forward Nadara Odell (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) adding 17 points. Freshman guard Jessica Beehler (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) chipped in with 14 points as freshman forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) adding another double-double to her season, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds (3 offense, 9 defense).

 

Odell and Tedquist also added eight rebounds each on the afternoon.

 

The Thunderwolves were led by Alania Forbes with 19 points with Taylor Lockwood adding 17 points, respectively.

 

JCC went 28-for-84 (33.3 percent) from the field with NCCC going 40-for-94 (42.6 percent) from the floor. The Thunderwolves hedl the slight edge in rebounds, grabbing 60 to the Jayhawks' 56.

 

After the game, Odell and Hicks were named to the Region 3 All-Region team for their accomplishments on the season.
