Jayhawks downed by the Thunderwolves

SANBORN – After a dominate first regional win, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team fell to No. 14 Niagara County Community College Saturday afternoon, 84-43.

 

The Jayhawks (8-9, 1-1 WNYAC) were led offensively by Kayla Hohl, coming off the bench to get a team-high nine points. Gabby Iuculano added seven points with Courtney Hemminger chipping in with six points. On the glass, Linnea Jimerson led the way with eight rebounds with Hohl and Macey Lundmark grabbing five rebounds each.

 

For the Thunderwolves, they had five players score in double figures with Cierra Harrison and Paige Emborsky leading the way with 15 points. Molly Mahony crahed the boards for NCCC, grabbing 12 rebounds while Nickelle O'Neil having 10 assists.

 

The Thunderwolves held the advantage on the boards, finishing with 57 rebounds while the Jayhawks had 42 rebounds. NCCC pressured Jamestown throughout the game, causing 26 turnovers.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday as they host Mercyhurst North East at 5:30 p.m.
