JAMESTOWN - Looking to keep the momentum going from Monday night, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team came up short against Region 3 foe Niagara County Community College, 109-83.

Freshman forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) backed up her nine points, 23 rebound performance from Monday night with a career-high 33 points while adding 15 rebounds (6 offense, 9 defense). Kymi Nance (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) added 14 points with Kate Tedquist (Penrose, CO/Canon City HS) chipping in with 11 points.

The Thunderwolves were led by Alaina Forbes with 23 points with Kiya Marquez adding 21 points, respectively.

JCC jumped out quickly to a 5-1 as Hicks converted on two of her 16 made shots to set the tone. NCCC found their offense soon after to jump out to a 13-5 lead just over three minutes into the game.

The Jayhawks battled to keep the score under double-digits. Down 10 at the five minute mark of the first, freshman forward Nadara Odell dropped the layup off the feed from Nance. Odell returned the favor, finding Nance for a deuce to make it 17-11 in favor of the Thunderwolves. NCCC closed out the frame on a 13-3 run, taking control of the game.

JCC went 31-for-93 (33.3 percent) from the floor while NCCC went 44-for-108 (40.7 percent) from the field. The Thunderwolves held the advantage in points in the paint with 56 points to the Jayhawks' 52 points.

The Jayhawks will be back home this Friday, March 26th, as they host Bryant & Stratton Albany. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
