JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Community College women's basketball team fell to No. 11 Niagara County Community College, 92-52 Wednesday evening at the Physical Education Complex.

The Jayhawks (9-13, 2-4 WNYAC) were led offensively by Kayla Hohl with 13 points, including three made three-pointers. Courtney Hemminger provided great minutes off the bench, scoring 11 points and grabbing a team-high six rebounds (1 offense, 5 defense) Gabby Iuculano had a solid game running the point, coming away with five assists.

Jamestown came into the game keeping pace with the Thunderwolves, playing in a 4-4 stalemate in the first four minutes of action. NCCC got back the lead halfway though the first quarter, knocking down the jumper. NCCC continued to go on the offensive, gaining a 10-4 advantage. Marisa Schuppenhauer got the Jayhawks back on the board, hitting both her free throws.

The Thunderwolves got their lead extended to eight with Cierra Harrison making her jump shot, putting NCCC up, 16-8. Hemminger kept the Jayhawks within two possessions, making her two shots to close out the quarter.

NCCC was held scoreless in the first five minutes of the second quarter before they found their offense once again. THe Thunderwolves extended their lead in the second frame, outscoring the Jayhawks 18-6.

On the night, JCC went 20-for-62 (32.3 percent) from the floor while going 6-for-17 (35.3 percent) from beyond the arc. NCCC went 35-for-76 (46.1 percent) from the floor while going 6-for-24 (25.0 percent) from three-point land. On the glass, the Thunderwolves had 52 rounds to the Jayhawks' 34 rebounds.

The Jayhawks will hit the road this Saturday as they take on Mercyhurst North East at 1 p.m.
