Jayhawks Place Second At JCC Invitational

JAMESTOWN - In their final home swim meet of the season, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team placed second at the JCC Invitational.

 

The Jayhawks posted a team score of 250, finishing behind Monroe Community College who had a score of 374.

 

Sophomore Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) picked up where she left off last semester, picking up three first place finishes. Kramer placed first in the 50 yard backstroke (30.09), 50 yard freestyle (26.09), and in the 200 yard backstroke (2:21.76).

 

Sophomore Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) had a solid meet, getting a pair of first place finishes. FIebiger placed first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:49.29) and in the 50 yard butterfly (29.33). Fiebiger also placed third in the 100 yard IM, posting a new personal best with a time of 1:15.85.

 

Freshman Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS) continues her strong season, picking up a pair of second place finishes. Blacker placed second in the 100 yard IM (1:15.84) and 200 yard breaststroke (3:06.94).

 

Freshman Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) had a pair of top-three finishes, placing second in the 200 yard backstroke (2:44.48) and third in the 50 yard backstroke (35.62).

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Wednesday, January 18th, as they travel to Erie Community College for the final WNYAC Meet of the season.
