Fiebiger & Kramer Earn All-American Nods; Jayhawks In First In Non-Scholarship Standings

BUFFALO – It was another solid day in the pool for the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team, having two swimmer earn All-American status and setting new school records on day three of the 2023 NJCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships.

 

To set the tone for the Jayhawks, Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) made her way into the finals of the 100 yard backstroke, swimming a time of 59.97. In the finals, Kramer improved her time by nearly one second with a time of 58.98 to finish in fifth place.

 

Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) was the other Jayhawk to earn All-American status, finishing in eighth place in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:52.91.

 

Lindsey Spitz (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) had a great swim in the 100 yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:13.04 in the prelims and move onto the finals. In the finals, Spitz set a new record with a time of 1:11.77 to set a new school record in an 11th place finish.

 

Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS) competed in the 100 yard IM, swimming a time of 1:13.20 in the prelims. In the finals, Blackler improved upon her time to finish in 10th place with a time of 1:12.19.

 

Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) competed in the 100 yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:14.94 in the prelims to go onto the finals. In the finals, Eckert took nearly three seconds off her prelim times with a time of 1:12.15 for a 15th place finish.

 

Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) had her best swim of the week, placing 16th in the 100 yard IM with at time of 1:22.01.

 

The night was capped off in the 200 yard medley relay, finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:58.83, a new NJCAA Region 3 record. The record-setting relay was courtesy of Kramer, Spitz, Fiebiger, and Blackler.

 

JCC is holding firm in the team standing at fifth place in the overall standing and first in the non-scholarship standings with 182 points, 19 more points than Genesee Community College and 20 points ahead of Monroe Community College.

 

The Jayhawks will wrap up the week tomorrow, March 4th, with a start time of 9:30 a.m.
