BUFFALO - Coming off a narrow victory the week earlier, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team dominated Erie Community College with a 106-41 victory.

The Jayhawks (2-0) started out strong with Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda Central) getting a first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:16.67, three seconds faster than her time a week ago. Moppert also finished first in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:08.97.

Karianne Yuchnitz (Panama, NY/Panama Central) continues her strong start to the season, placing first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.55. Alyssa Hanesworth (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) finished second in the event, finishing with a new personal best 36.49. Yuchnitz also finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.03.

Hanesworth improved in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:21.89. Hanesworth knocked off 11 seconds from a week ago.

Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls) finished first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:45.69. Anna Burt (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) posted a second-place finish, posting a time of 2:55.09.

Burt finished the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:14.05, edging out Libby Richardson of ECC who had a time of 1:14.56.

Megan Stang (Perrysburg, NY/Gowanda Central) improved in the 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 6:41.96. Stang improved her time by 10 seconds from a week ago.

Lilian Baer (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) posted a new personal best in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:21.26. Baer also set a personal record in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:26.72.

JCC wrapped up the evening with a first-place finish in the 400 yard freestyle with the team of Yuchnitz, Burt, Vidas, and Moppert. The team posted a time of 4:11.09.

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Monday, March 22nd, against Genesee Community College at 5 p.m.
