Jayhawk Ladies Sweep WNYAC Meet at Erie CC

BUFFALO, NY - The JCC women were again dominant as they swept the WNYAC swimming and diving meet at Erie Community College.

Newcomer Ashlynn Swan (Jamestown, NY / Southwestern Central School) brought home a pair of first-place dives that also broke program records. She notched a score of 154.12 in the 3-meter event and 210.60 in the 1-meter contest. Shaylyn Owens (Delevan, NY / Pioneer Central) earned third, with 99.67.

In the main pool it was Ella Fosberg (Jamestown, NY / Southwestern Central School) gutting out the distance championship with a 13:32:62 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Sticking with the long swims, Fosberg also won the 500 free, with a 6:33:55, over a minute faster than second place.

Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY / Falconer HS) and Stacey Blackler (Edenvale, Gauteng, South Africa / Edanvale HS) took the top two spots on the podium in 200 free with a 2:07:31 and 2:30:29, respectively.

In the 50 free, JCC has another solid showing, with Paiden Wittmeyer (Stockton, NY / Cassadaga Central) clocking in first at 27:86 and Shalynn Owens scoring fifth at 33:35.

Lindsey Spitz (Jamestown, NY / Jamestown HS) brought home a first-place showing in the 200 IM, notching a 2:48:06.

Turning to the butterfly, Kramer was victorious there in 28:65, while Wittmeyer was right behind her in 31.02.

Kramer also took home the win in the 50 yard backstroke. The sophomore clocked a time of 29:91.

Blackler claimed a silver in 100 free, clicking a 1:07:53, she was just edged out by ECC. Jamestown took first and third in the 50 breaststroke with times of 37.04 and 40.53 from Spitz and Blackler.

Lastly, JCC's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Wittmeyer, Spitz, Owens, and Fosberg took another win for Jamestown.

JCC stays home for their next event, they host a WNYAC meet at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15th.
