Kramer All-Americans In Two Events; Jayhawks In Fifth After Day Two Of Nationals

BUFFALO - It was a big day in the pool for the Jamestown Community College women's swimming diving team on day two of the 2023 NJCAA Women's Swimming & Diving National Championships held at the Burt Flickinger Center of Erie Community College.

 

Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) had an outstanding day in the pool, earning two All-American honors while setting a new school record. Kramer earned All-American honors in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.00 for an eighth place finish and setting a new school record. Kramer also earned All-American honors in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 28.68 for another eighth place finish.

 

Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) had a solid day in the pool, picking up a 12th place finish in the 100 yard butterfly. In the prelims, Fiebiger posted a time of 1:08.80 and bested the time in the finals with a 1:08.40.

 

JCC capped off the day with a podium finish in the 400 yard medley relay by posting a time of 4:23.24, a new school record. The team of Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS), Lindsey Spitz (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS), Kramer and Fiebiger brought home the sixth place finish.

 

The Jayhawks made movement in the team standings, moving up to fifth place with 115 points, one point ahead of Region 3 foe Monroe Community College.

 

JCC will be back in action tomorrow, March 3rd, at 9:30 a.m.
