KEYSER, W.Va. - On day two of the Jim Walton Classic, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team fell to Garrett College by a score of 77-64 Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks (1-2) were led by freshman guard Jared Martin (Norwich, CT/Springfield Commonwealth Academy) with 27 points while sophomore guard/forward Bam Toure (Jamaica, NY/St. Johns Prep) added 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds (3 offense, 5 defense).

JCC erased a 10-point deficit at the break and fought back by as many as five points in the second half thanks to a layup by Toure and a three-pointer by Martin that made it a 49-44 game with 9:30 remaining in regulation. The Jayhawks kept it within a 10-point game over the next two minutes of action before Garrett College took over the momentum to have the game go in their favor.

The Jayhawks went 26-for-70 (37.1 percent) from the field while the Lakers went 25-for-66 (37.9 percent) from the floor. Garrett controlled the glass, grabbing 45 rebounds to JCC's 30.

The Jayhawks will be back home on Tuesday, November 8th, as they host No. 2 Genesee Community College at 5:30 p.m.
