Golf Battles Weather; Take Third At Jayhawk Invitational

CHAUTAUQUA – It was a cold, windy, rainy day for the Jamestown Community College men's golf team who hosted the Jayhawk Invitational at Chautauqua Golf Club Friday afternoon.

 

As a team, the Jayhawks had a score of 323, finishing third in the team standings out of nine participating teams.

 

Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) led the charge for JCC, tying for second with a round score of 77, two strokes off the lead. Anthony Gullo (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) was not far off, finishing with a score of 79 which tied him for fifth place. Austyn Cummings (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) had a solid round battling the weather, handing in a score of 82 to tie for 16th.

 

Athanasios Bakas (North Riding, Johannesburg, South Africa/The King's College and Preparatory School) continues to show improvement, tying for 20th place with a score of 85.  Brady Fye (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High) and Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) were close behind their fellow teammate, finishing with scores of 87 and 88, respectively. Maxim Johnson (Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edwards VII School) rounded out the Jayhawk golfers, finishing with a score of 106.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action tomorrow, April 29th, as they travel to Niagara County Community College at Willow Creek Golf Club starting at 10 a.m.
