MARCELLUS - In the backend of their back-to-back matches, the Jamestown Community College golf team competed at the Lazers Invite, hosted by Onondaga Community College, at Sunset Ridge Golf Club.

The Jayhawks placed fifth out of six teams that competed, scoring a combined score of 386 on a wet and breezy afternoon.

"Our guys rebounded from our prior outing," said head coach George Sisson. "Having competed against someone other than your teammates, there's a learning curve and our guys have picked that up quickly. Traden (Gray) got off to a slow start but was consistent on the back nine. Noah (Adams) has also shown me that he could handle the course conditions."

Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) bounced back from first collegiate outing, placing fifth with a score of 79 on the par 72 course. Gray tied with two other golfers but the placing was determined on the low handicap hole tiebreaker. Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) also saw him saving some strokes off his first out, finishing with a score of 97 which put him in 25th place.

Kyle Smallback (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) also made some improvement from his first outing, placing 28th with a score of 99. Teammate Trevor Harrington (Arcade, NY/Pioneer Central) came in 33th place with a score of 111 while Josh Brown (Randolph, NYRandolph HS) placed 36th with a round score of 113.

The Jayhawks will be off until Friday, April 22nd, as they travel to the Mohawk Valley Community College Invitational held at the Oneida Golf Club.
