CHAUTAUQUA - Wrapping up the final day of the 2022 Region 3 Golf Championship, Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) earned All-Region honors, placing sixth to close out the event for the Jamestown Community College golf team.
Gray finished day two with a round score of 80, shaving three strokes off his first round for a total of 163. Gray finished the first day in 11th place and was able to make the move upward.
The rest of the Jayhawks hit the field as well but could not place in the event as they did not have three rounds of 80s on the season leading up to the championship. Competition was completed in order to compete at nationals as the team automaticcaly quialifies as being the host institution.
Josh Brown (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) continued to improve on the course, shooting a round two score of 85, five strokes better than his first round score. Brown finished with a total of 174. Trevor Harrington (Arcade, NY/Pioneer Central) shaved two strokes off his score from the day prior, finishing with a round of 92 for a total of 186.
Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) also improved on his first round score, finishing with a 94. Adams finished with a two-day score of 191. Kyle Smallback (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) rounded out the Jayhawk competitors, finishing with a score of 98 for a combined score of 195.
The Jayhawks will be on a hiatus for the next three weeks as they prepare for the 2022 NJCAA DIII Golf Championships beginning on June 7th at Chautauqua Golf Club.
