CHAUTAUQUA – After a two hour rain delay to begin the day, the Jamestown Community College golf team competed in Round Three of the 2022 NJCAA D3 Men's Golf National Championships Wednesday morning at the Chautauqua Golf Club' Lake Course.
Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) start the day for the Jayhawks, shooting a 90 in the round for a three-day total of 253 where he is currently tied for 30th.
Gray shot a 44 on the first nine where he had two pars and three bogeys. On the back nine, Gray had a birdie on hole 13 to go along with two pars and two bogeys.
Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Central) and Kyle Smallback (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) turned in the same score of 94 for the round. Adams is sitting in 56th place while Smallback is tied for 57th.
Adams shot a 48 on the front nine where he had one par and three bogeys. On the back nine, Adams shot a 46 where he had four pars and two bogeys. Adams' score after three days is 281.
Smallback shot a 46 on the front nine where he had one par and five bogeys. On the back nine, Smallback shot a 48 where he had two pars and four bogeys. Smallback's score after three days is 284.
Rounding out the Jayhawk competitors is Josh Brown (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) who turned in a score of 99 on the round. Brown shot a 49 on the front nine where he had one par and shot six bogeys. On the back nine, Brown shot a 50 with one par and four bogeys. Brown's three-day total is 285.
As a team, the Jayhawk still remain in 10th place where they shot 377 on the day for a three-day total of 1103.
Sandhills CC remains in the first place on the week with a total of 881 and while the College of DuPage remains second place with a total of 942. Andreas Huber of Sandhills CC sits atop the leaderboard with total of 217. Carson Witherspoon and Alex Martin of Sandhills CC are currently tied for second with a total of 221.
On the women's side, Scotty Foley of Sandhills CC is still in the lead with a total of 239 with teammate Ava Ray in second place with a score of 257.
The Jayhawks will be back in action tomorrow, June 10th, as they compete in final of the NJCAA D3 Men's Golf National Championships at 9:00 a.m.
