Gray Places 13th To Pace The Jayhawks In Season-Opener

CORTLAND - In their first competition of the year, the Jamestown Community College golf team took part in the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panther Invitational where 39 golfers took to Elm Tree Golf Club Friday morning.

 

The Jayhawks, playing on the Par 71 course, finished sixth as a team out of seven, finishing with a combined score of 375.

 

Freshman Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS), led the way for the young team, finishing in 13th-place with a round score of 83. Returner Josh Brown (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) finished with a score of 92, placing him at 20th.

 

Freshman Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) and Kyle Smallback (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) shot similar scores with Adams shooting 99 and Smallback shooting a 101. Adams and Smallback finished in 31st and 32nd place, respectively.

 

Rounding out the JCC golfers was freshman Trevor Harrington (Arcade, NY/Pioneer Central) who shot a 116, placing him in 35th.

 

Before heading back to Chautauqua County, the Jayhawks will compete in the Onondaga Community College Lazer Invitational at the SUnset Ridge Golf Club. Tee times are set for 10 a.m.
