Jayhawks Fight Hard But Fall to Jefferson

WATERTOWN, NY - Jamestown fought hard versus a Jefferson Community College team receiving votes in the national rankings but ultimately fell 6-1 in women's soccer. The Cannoneers jumped out to a 4-0 first-half lead. That advantage could have been worse had goalie Jolize Beukman (Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa / Hoerskool Zwartkop) not stopped 25 saves on the day. The Jayhawks broke through in the second half when reigning NJCAA Region 3 athlete of the week Alexis Lundmark (Lakewood, NY / Southwestern HS) scored her seventh goal of the season. Jefferson added two more tallies after that to make it a 6-1 final. The loss dropped JCC to 3-6-1 on the season. The Jayhawks are back on the road Wednesday when they visit Lorain County Community College at 3:00 pm.
