Hewes' goal and Butcher's defense propel Jayhawks to 1-0 win

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Soccer team (4-9) went on the road to face the Timberwolves of SUNY Adirondack Community College (3-9).  The Jayhawks struck first 4:00 into the contest with a goal by #6 Courtney Hewes (Ashville), assisted by #11 Kenya Stanton (Portland), to give the Jayhawks the 1-0 lead.  The first half ended with Jayhawks in the lead 1-0.  The second half saw neither team able to score a goal and the Hewes goal was the difference maker to give the Jayhawks the 1-0 win over the Timberwolves .  The Jayhawks offense was led by #6 Courtney Hewes (Ashville)  who took 5 shots and #9 Tayler Morrison (Dundee) who took 3 shots.  The Jayhawks defense was led by #0 Rebecca Butcher (South Dayton) who recorded the shutout having had 3 saves while facing 3 shots on goal.
