Jayhawks defense falls short in close loss

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Soccer team (1-2) went on the road to face the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College (1-2-1).  The first half saw a defensive struggle with both teams failing to score and 0-0 on the scoreboard at the half.  The second half featured more stout defense but with 12 minutes left to play, the Redhawks scored a goal.  This would prove to be the only score of the game as the Redhawks downed the Jayhawks 1-0.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #4 Madison McLachlan (Australia) who had 4 shots on goal; and both #6 Courtney Hewes (Ashville) and #9 Tayler Morrison (Dundee) each had 3 shots on goal.  The Jayhawks defense was led by #0 Rebecca Butcher (South Dayton) who had 12 saves while facing 13 shots on goal.
