Jayhawks defense struggles in the second half

The JCC Jayhawks Women's Soccer team (4-11) went on the road to face the Connoneers of Jefferson Community Community College (6-8).  The first half saw a close contest with the Cannoneers getting on the board first to take a 1-0 lead.  The score would remain 1-0 at the half and when the second half began, the Jayhawks hoped to score a goal of their own and tie the game.  Both teams would be unable to score for the first 15 minutes of the second half.  But the Cannoneers had other plans besides letting the Jayhawks tie the game and instead the Cannoneers scored two goals in a little over two minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead.  The Jayhawks would answer with an unassisted goal by #6 Courtney Hewes (Ashville), but that would be the only scoring by the Jayhawks on the afternoon as the Cannoneers would go on to defeat the Jayhawks 3-1.  The Jayhawks defense was led by #0 Rebecca Butcher (South Dayton) who had 6 saves while facing 9 shots on goal.
