Jayhawks Place Three at Adrian Invite

ADRIAN, MI - Jamestown Community College made the five-hour drive to Adrian, Michigan, for the Adrian College wrestling invitational this weekend.

JCC came home with three wrestlers placing in the tournament. Sophomore Kyle Keefe (Falconer, NY / Falconer, HS) had the best showing for the Jayhawks, coming in third at 184lbs. Freshmen Nicholas Ewan (Jamestown, NY / Jamestown, HS) (157lbs) and Rashawn Bloom (Medina, NY / Medina HS) (125lbs) also finished inside the top eight in their respective weight classes. Ewan earned seventh, and Bloom brought home eighth.

Another freshman, Ryan Chapman (Jamestown, NY / Southwestern Central School), also picked up a win at 149lbs, earning two points for Jamestown before finishing with a 1-2 mark.

Bloom notched his victory in the second round of the consolation bracket of 125lbs by securing a 2-1 tech fall win to eventually make it to the seventh-place match.

In 157lbs, Ewan took home the seventh place match 2-1 to secure a spot inside the top eight.

Jamestown's best showing was brought home by Keefe at 184lbs. Keefe finished 3-1 on the day, with his only loss being a 2-2 decision. He then ripped off three straight wins, all by a 3-1 score. The last coming in the third place match to find himself on the podium.

Jamestown next travels to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, November 11th, for the W&J Invite.
