Keefe Leads Jamestown Wrestling at W&J Invite

WASHINGTON, PA - Jamestown Community College wrestling took park in its second invitational tournament of the season at Washington & Jefferson College over the weekend.

The Jayhawks were led by reigning Region 3 wrestler of the week Kyle Keefe (Falconer, NY / Falconer, HS), who finished fourth in 184lbs. The sophomore jumped out of the gates, taking his first match by tech fall 16-0. He then advanced to the semifinals, winning his quarters showdown 5-3. From there, it was a pair of tough losses in the semis and third-place match, which landed Keefe in fourth for the event.

Jamestown also earned a win from Ryan Chapman (Jamestown, NY / Southwestern Central School), who secured a pin in his first match at 149lbs. Chapman was unable to advance beyond round two, dropping his second and third bouts.

Those were Jamestown's three wins on the day. Also competing were Gavin Warner (Jamestown, NY / Pulaski County HS) and Jamil Glenn (Cleveland, OH / Shaker Heights HS) (133lbs), Ryan Parton (Macedon, NY / Penfield High School) (141lbs), Nicholas Ewan (Jamestown, NY / Jamestown, HS) (157lbs), and Dakota Planty (Brocton, NY / Brocton Central School) (165lbs).

JCC now sets its sights on the Findlay Open scheduled for Saturday, November 18th, at 9:00 AM.
