BATAVIA, NY - Jamestown Community College traveled to Genesee Community College Wednesday night in a Region 3 basketball showdown, but the Jayhawks came home with a 94-75 loss after shooting just 40% from the floor.

JCC missed its first six shots of the game and turned the ball over three times in the opening five minutes.

Those deficiencies saw JCC fall behind 12-0 to the Panthers, a deficit they couldn't overcome.

JCC would draw within eight, 21-13, on back-to-back threes from Jean Saint-Fort (Boynton Beach, FL / Boynton Beach Community HS), who finished with 12 on the night.

From there the hole grew to as much as 20 before Iverson Plaza (Brooklyn, NY / Trinity Pawling School) ended the half with a jumper to make it 50-36 at the break. Plaza had a team-high 20.

The Jayhawks made a run in the second half, cutting the GCC advantage down to just two at one point, 62-60.

Freshman Lavelle Felton (Spring, TX / Legacy the School of Sports Sciences) did some of the work as he poured in 13 on the night. A

fter using all they had to draw close to Genesee, Jamestown couldn't get over the hump, with the Panthers finishing the game on a 32-15 outburst to win 94-75.

The loss knocks JCC down to 3-9 on the season.

The men now have a long holiday break. They are back on the court when they host St. John Fisher on Friday, January 12th, at 6:00 PM.
