Jayhawks Extend Win Streak To Three Games

BUFFALO – Making the quick trip up north, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team took down Villa Maria College by a score of 65-57 Wednesday evening.

 

The Jayhawks (7-7) were led by sophomore forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) with 18 points and 18 rebounds (6 offense, 12 defense) with sophomore guard D'Auzhanay Harden (Erie, PA/Erie HS) helping the cause with 16 points. Freshman forward Grace Lundmark (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) added 13 points with freshman guard Chyann Kelly (Bailey, CO/Platte Canyon HS) coming away with a season-high seven assists.

 

Throughout the first three quarters of action, JCC held a 51-49 lead heading into the final frame of regulation. The Jayhawk defense stood tall, holding the Vikings to eight fourth quarter points to help secure the victory.

 

The Jayhawks went 28-for-73 (38.4 percent) from the field while Villa Maria went 18-for-51 (35.3 percent) from the floor. JCC held a monster advantage on the glass, grabbing 42 rebounds to the Vikings' 23.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Saturday, January 21st, as they host Erie Community College in Region 3 play starting at 1 p.m.
