Slow Second Half Dooms Jayhawks

Slow Second Half Dooms Jayhawks

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jayhawks started strong, building an early six-point lead off a corner three from Matthew Bohurjak, who had a team-high 17 on the night.

That advantage grew to seven in the middle of the half, with Jean Saint-Fort getting two of his nine on the inside.

Jamestown would see its edge swell to double-digits thanks to a three from Samad Bailey, who also had a team-high 17. CCBC made a surge late in the frame. A triple from Andre Vacich off the bench made it a one-point affair.

Just before the break, the Titans' J'Daniel Mosquera sank a fast break lay-up to put JCC in the hole for the first time at 35-34. That was your halftime score.

Mosquera opened the second with a three to drop JCC down by four.

The home team evened things back up at 38-38 with 17:03 on the clock. It was another Bailey bucket doing the damage, but that's when the offense went dry.

CCBC would stretch its advantage out to seven off of free throws from Jiovanni Santella.

JCC tried to claw back; Bailey earned a pair in the paint to make it a four-point game under seven to play.

That was the last real threat from Jamestown. CCBC's Dakari Bradford his a mid-range jumper to go back up double-digits, and the Jayhawks ran out of time to respond, ultimately falling by 12.

The loss drops Jamestown to 7-15 on the year.

JCC has a quick turnaround, hitting the road for Erie Community College on Saturday morning.
