Jayhawks Surrender Lead in Pair of Losses to Erie CC

SALAMANCA, NY - Jamestown Community College dropped both ends of their doubleheader in Salamanca versus Erie Community College on Tuesday. The Jayhawks fell in game one 13-5 and game two 3-1.

Both games were a bit of a heartbreaker as Jamestown took early leads in each contest.

JCC grabbed a 3-0 lead in game one off a two-out, two-run double from Bradley Babcock to make it 3-0 for the home squad. The Jayhawks held a lead of 5-4 heading to the sixth inning before allowing a pair and falling behind 6-5. The game got away from them, with Erie scoring seven runs in the top half of the seventh for the final of 13-5.

In game two, Tim Beimel put JCC on top with a solo home run in the third for a 1-0 advantage. ECC tied things up in the fourth before scoring twice in the fifth for the 3-1 final.

JCC and ECC are right back at it again on Wednesday, but this time it is in Buffalo. The Jayhawks return home Thursday, April 4th when they host Tompkins Cortland Community College at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
