Jayhawks Doubled-Up By The Lakers

CANANDAIGUA – In their final series against Finger Lakes Community College, the Jamestown Community College baseball team dropped both games Thursday afternoon.

 

Game 1: Finger Lakes Community College 8 – Jamestown Community College 3

The Jayhawks (9-16, 8-12 Region 3 West) found themselves down early, giving up three runs in the top of the first. JCC responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to keep the game close. Each team scrapped across a run each over the next four innings with the Lakers pulling away in the seventh.

 

Shortstop Nate Johnson (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High) led the offense, grabbing two hits while three Jayhawks each added an RBI.

 

Pitcher Bryce Jackson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown High) earned the loss on the mound, giving up four runs, two earned, on seven hits and striking out four batters in six innings. Alex Kemery (Youngsville, PA/Youngsville HS) pitched one innings, surrendering four runs on two hits.

 

Game 2: Finger Lakes Community College 10 – Jamestown Community College 0

In the second game, left fielder Wyatt Hennessy (Mukwonago, WI/Mukwonago HS) got the team's lone hit in the game, hitting a triple to start the game. Johnson drew a walk while right fielder Aaron Hair (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) also reached on base in two at bats, wearing a pair of pitches.

 

Pitcher Billy Harmon (Racine, OH/Southern Local) went four innings, giving up nine runs, seven earned, on 10 hits and struck out four batters. Kenny Nickson III (Erie, PA/Erie HS) saw one inning of work, giving up one run on one hit.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Tuesday, May 3rd, as they travel to SUNY Broome Community College for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
