Jayhawks Drop Road Series Against Finger Lakes

CANANDAIGUA – Wrapping up their weekend road trip, the Jamestown Community College baseball team dropped a pair of games Sunday afternoon at Finger Lakes Community College.

 

Game 1: Finger Lakes Community College 8 – Jamestown Community College 1

The Jayhawks (9-12, 8-8 Region 3 West) offense was led by shortstop Nate Johnson (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High) and center fielder Ayden Reagle (Benus Point, NY/Maple Grove HS) each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Johnson drove in the team's lone run in the game.

 

Pitcher Bryce Jackson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) earned the loss on the mound, surrendering six runs, three earned, on six hits while striking out a pair in three innings. Alex Kemery (Youngsville, PA/Youngsville HS) went the rest of the way, giving up two runs on one hit while striking out two.

 

Game 2: Finger Lakes Community College 7 – Jamestown Community College 5

Johnson carried over his offensive performance, going 4-for-4 at the plate including three doubles. Johnson drove in a pair of runs as did right fielder Billy Harmon (Racine, OH/Southern Local).

 

Pitcher Tanner Potter (Trumansburg, NY/Trumansburg HS) earned the loss on the mound, giving up six runs on four hits and striking out five batters in four and two-thirds innings of work. Johnson went the rest of the way, giving up one run on one hit.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Tuesday, April 26th, as they host Erie Community College at 2 p.m.
