WILLIAMSVILLE - After a layoff of over a week, the Jamestown Community College baseball team dropped a pair of games at Erie Community College Saturday afternoon.
Game 1: Erie Community College 12 - Jamestown Community College 2
The Jayhawks (9-10, 8-6 Region 3 West) found themselves in a hole early in the first contest, trailing 11-0 after three innings of action.
JCC put their two runs on the board in the fifth inning, with third baseman Zach Zulawski (Melbourne, FL/ Viera HS) and Kenny Nickson III (Erie, PA/Erie HS) each had an RBI in the outing with Nickson III getting a double as well.
Pitcher Billy Harmon (Racine, OH/Southern Local) earned his first loss of the season, giving 11 runs on five hits in three innings. Alex Kemery (Youngsville, PA/Youngsville HS) went the rest of the way, giving up one run on four hits and striking out one batter.
Game 2: Erie Community College 27 - Jamestown Community College 2
In the backend of the doubleheader, Harmon and Aaron Hair (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) drove in the team's only runs late in the fifth. Shortstop Nate Johnson (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High) added his twelfth extra-base hit with a double.
The Jayhawks went with a committee on the mound with Zach Rohlin (Russell, PA/Eisenhower HS) earning the loss on the mound.
The Jayhawks will be back in action tomorrow, April 24th, as they travel to Finger Lakes Community College for a 1 p.m. tip.
