Jayhawks Cruise Past The Broncos

WATERTOWN - Looking to get their first win of the new season, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team got a convincing win over Bronx Community College Saturday evening by a score of 61-43 at the Cannoneer Classic.

 

The Jayhawks (1-1) were led by sophomore guard/forward Zalika Stevens (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Thornlea Secondary School) with 20 points with Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) recording her first double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and grabbing 26 rebounds (8 offense, 18 defense). Guard D'Auzhanay Harden (Erie, PA/Erie HS) added 12 points and eight assists and freshman forward Grace Lundmark (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) grabbed 11 boards (3 offense, 8 defense).

 

JCC went 23-for-80 (28.7 percent) from the floor with BCC going 17-for-68 (25 percent) from the field. The Jayhawks controlled the glass, grabbing 67 rebounds to the Broncos' 48 rebounds.

 

The Jayhawks will have a quick turnaround as they face Jefferson Community College tomorrow, November 6th, at 3 p.m.
