ERIE, Pa. - Competing in their first dual of the season, the Jamestown Community College wrestling team won by a score of 37-18 against Penn State Behrend.

The Jayhawks (1-0) started out hot, winning the first three matches of the evening. De'Aonte Hutchinson (Baltimore, MD/Edgewood HS) got the first win of the day, getting the 8-5 decision victory against Zach Dellinger. Brendon Ramsey (Panama, NY/Panama Central) kept the momentum going in the 133 pound class, getting the fall over Jose Ortiz in 1:18 of action to put JCC up 9-0. Luke Potts (Pittsburgh, PA/West Allegheny HS) put the Jayhawks up 15-0 after getting the medical forfeit win over Mitch Headley.

After dropping the 149 pound class, JCC got six points back with Fareed Muhammad (Cleveland, OH/Garfield Heights) getting the forfeit win to make it 21-6. The Lions got the win in the 165 pound class with Zachary Edwards getting the fall over Jameson Trusler (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) in 1:37 to make it 21-12.

The Jayhawks got back in their groove, winning the next three matches of the night. Mohammed Mustafa Salimi (Kabal, Afghanistan/Ghazi HS) continued his strong start of the season, getting the fall over Matt Posego in 2:08 to make it 27-12. Alex Christy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia HS) had his way with Daniel Labus, getting the 11-0 major decision. Brock Johnson (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) capped off the run, getting the fall over Russell Wismer in 1:25 to make it 37-12 in favor of JCC.

Kyle Trim of Behrend got the forfeit win in the heavyweight class to end the dual with a score of 37-18.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Saturday, December 3rd, as they travel to the Thunderwolves Open hosted by Niagara County Community College.
