EAST AMHERST - Heading into the final day of the 2023 NJCAA Region 3 Golf Championships at Glen Oak Golf Course, the Jamestown Community College men's golf team made some moves as a team with having three players earn All Region honors.
As a team, the Jayhawks shot a 342 on the windy afternoon, five strokes over their score from Monday, for a two-day score of 679. Their two-day total placed them fourth for the tournament, one stroke ahead of Jefferson Community College.
JCC had three golfers earn All Region honors in Anthony Gullo (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS), Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS), and Brady Fye (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High). Gullo stayed on course, shooting an 81 for the day with a total of 162 to finish in eighth place. Gray added two strokes from his first-day score with an 83, a total of 164 for ninth place. Fye rounded out the All Region honorees, shooting a 90 on the day for a total of 171 and a 15th place finish.
Austyn Cummings (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) improved on his first round score of 96, shooting an 88 for a 30th place finish with a 184. Noah Adams (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) was right behind Cummings, shooting a two-day score of 185 after a score of 91 in the second round.
The Jayhawks will now prepare for the 2023 NJCAA Division III Men;s Golf Championships from June 6-9 held at Chautauqua Golf Club.
