JAMESTOWN – After nearly a week off of action, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team extended their win streak to six games with a 69-57 win over Villa Maria College.

The Jayhawks (10-7) were led by sophomore forward Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) with a triple-double with 14 points, 14 rebounds (3 offense, 11 defense), and a new school record of 10 blocks. Freshman guard Chyann Kelly (Bailey, CO/Platte Canyon HS) led the scoring with 17 points while freshman forward Grace Lundmark (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) added 15 points.

After a tight game through three quarters of action and JCC holding a 44-43 advantage, the Jayhawks applied the pressure and dictated the final quarter, outscoring the Vikings 25-13 during the frame. JCC was getting to the basket a number of ways with Lundmark scoring eight points, sophomore guard D'Auzhanay Harden (Erie, PA/Erie HS) with seven points, and Kelly with six points.

Applying that pressure, the Jayhawks forced the Vikings into a number of contested shots where they went 3-for-18 (16.7 percent) to go along with seven turnovers in the final frame.

JCC went 27-for-63 (42.9 percent) from the floor while Villa Maria went 21-for-68 (30.9 percent) from the field. The Jayhawks held a slight advantage on the glass, grabbing 48 rebounds to the Vikings' 44.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday, February 1st, as they travel to Monroe Community College for Region 3 action with tip slated for 5:00 p.m.
