Jayhawks Fall to the Thunderwolves in the Region 3 Championship Game

SANBORN - In the NJCAA Region 3 Men's Basketball Championship game, Jamestown Community College fell to Niagara County Community College, 99-57, Saturday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (4-5, 1-4 WNYAC) were led offensively by redshirt-sophomore guard Isaac Allen (Houston, TX/Texas Connection Academy) with 21 points with sophomore guards Kyle Butler (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool HS) and Joseph Okonoboh (Boston, MA/Bradford Christian Academy) with 10 points each. Sophomore forward Jake Hougan (Chardon, OH/Chardon HS) added eighth points on the afternoon. Freshman forward Shem Gordon (Vaughn, Ontario, Canada/Potters House Christian) led the team in rebounds with six (2 offense, 4 defense).

 

The Thunderwolves were led offensively by Justin Hendrick with 18 points. On the glass, Stephon Roberts with 10 rebounds (4 offense, 6 defense), respectively.

 

The Jayhawks went 18-for-60 (30 percent) from the field with the Thunderwolves going 38-for-69 (55.1 percent) from the floor. NCCC held the advantage in rebounds with 48 to JCC's 35 rebounds



After the game, Allen and Butler were named to the Region 3 All-Region team for their accomplishments on the season.
