Jayhawks lose late lead

The JCC Jayhawks men's basketball team (0-1) went on the road to play the Lakers of Lakeland Community College (1-0).  The Jayhawks started out fast and quickly built an 8-2 lead but the Lakers clawed their way back and the teams went back and forth with the Lakers gaining a 29-20 lead.  The Jayhawks mounted a comeback and with 1:37 left In the half the Jayhawks retook the lead 33-32.  The teams went back and forth with the Lakers taking a 1 point lead into the half 36-35. 

 

The second half had the Jayhawks take the lead and established a 46-42 lead.  The teams then went back and forth where the Jayhawks pulled away again 56-52.  With 8:22 left the Jayhawks had a 63-58 lead.  After both teams received technical fouls, the Jayhawks lost their grip on the lead and the teams went back and forth before the Lakers pulled away late to down the Jayhawks 74-65.  The Jayhawks were led by #12 Tyler Moffe who had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists; #4 Michael Bush (Harlem) 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists; #32 Brandon Kemp 's (Brooklyn) recorded a double double with 12 points and 14 rebounds; #10 Derek Ice (Bronx) had 9 points; #21 Brandon Banna had 8 points and 4 rebounds, and #34 Jean Toussaint had 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
