JAMESTOWN – A second half surge was not enough as the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team fell to visiting Montgomery College 101-82 Saturday evening at the Physical Education Complex.

The Jayhawks (2-2) were once again led offensively by Sheick Kourmora, scoring 26 points off the bench. Kourmora shot an efficient 9-for-11 from the field including four three-pointers. Isaac Allen dropped 16 points while Donathan Daniels added 10 points. Daniels and Jake Hougan both had a team-high six rebounds.

The Raptors were able to jump out to an early 10-0 lead over JCC before Carl Jackson was able to stop the run. Montgomery was able to suffocate the Jayhawk offense early in the game and was able to create turnovers. Camren Ashby was able to steal the ball away from Jackson and find Marlon Pratt for a three to push the score to 21-4 in favor of the Raptors.

JCC continued to show fight, after a jumper from Nicholas Johnson, Kourmora answered with a three to cut the lead to 28-13. Kourmora was continued to pull the Jayhawks back in the game, making a jumper with just under 10 minutes until halftime. Montgomery was able to regain the momentum, after back-to-back threes from Joseph Moore and Ashby to push the lead to 34-15. The Raptors were took a 54-32 lead into intermission.

In the second half JCC was able to cut the deficit to 13 with 3:48 left in regulation as Jordan Thomas drove the lane for the layup, making it 91-78. Isaiah Jennings put the game away, scoring five straight.

Jennings led the way for Montgomery, scoring 34 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and passed out seven assists. The Raptors had four players score in double-digits.

Montgomery held the advantage of points in the paint, 40-32, and fastbreak points, 12-6. JCC had options off the bench, as they scored a combined 45 points to the Raptors 16.

The Jayhawks will be off until Tuesday, November 19th, when they host Pitt-Titusville at 7 p.m.
