Jayhawks Hit Triple Digits In Victory

The JCC Jayhawks men's basketball team (6-5) hosted the Panthers of the University of Pitt-Titusville (3-7).   The Jayhawks and Panthers played each other close, and after 5 minutes gone the Jayhawks held a narrow 13-11 lead.  The Jayhawks would pull away in the next five minutes leading to a 24=13 lead with 10 minutes left in the first period.  The Jayhawks pulled further away in the next five minutes taking a 40-20 lead and by half time the score was 48-31.  The second half would see the Jayhawks play more aggressive defense, leading to numerous steals and turnover opportunities as after 10 minutes of play the Jayhawks were up 78-44.  Reserve players #21 Brandon Banna,  #24 Keishawn Butler, #20 Tanner Dahl (Westfield), #22 Dashawn Branch, and #33 Carter Davidson played well and with a shot by #4 Michael Bush (Harlem) led to the Jayhawks downing the Panthers 100-58.

The Jayhawks were led by #34 Jean Toussaint who had a double double of 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists;  #4 Michael Bush (Harlem) had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists; #10 Derek Ice (Bronx) had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals; #32 Brandon Kemp (Brooklyn) had 15 points and 3 assists; #12 Tyler Moffe had 13 points and 3 rebounds; #21 Brandon Banna had 7 points and 7 rebounds;  #20 Tanner Dahl (Westfield) had 7 points and 4 steals; and #22 Dashawn Branch had 5 points.
