Jayhawks had 11 players score in an 85-73 win over Butler County

BUTLER, Pa. – In the first of a three-game road trip, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team defeated Butler County Community College, 85-73 Wednesday evening.

 

The Jayhawks (5-4) were led offensive by Jordan Thomas who had a career-high 25 points of 12-of-16 shooting. Sheik Kourmora was the other Jamestown player that was able to crack double digit scoring. In all, the Jayhawks had 11 players find their way into the scoring column.

 

Thomas did his part on cleaning up the glass, grabbing eight rebounds (4offense, 4 defense) Donathan Daniels also had eight rebounds on the night (2 offense, 6 defense). Kyle Butler has come into his own in running the Jayhawks offense, dishing out eight assists. This is Butler's fourth game where he has had seven or more assists.

 

Jamir Carter led the offense for the Pioneers, having a game-high 29 points with Jacob Slomers adding 11 points. Dom Schmidt had 10 points on the night, respectively. Kaiden Young had a double-double for Butler, grabbing 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.

 

JCC held the slight edge in rebounds, 32-30. The Jayhawks defense was all over the court, causing Butler to commit 22 turnovers.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Friday, December 13th, as they travel to Columbus State Community College for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
