Clutch 3's seal the win for the Jayhawks

The JCC Jayhawks men's basketball team (1-2) went on the road to face the Panthers of Tompkins Cortland Community College (1-3).  The Jayhawks and Panthers had a back and forth battle in a close scoring affair which led to the Jayhawks holding a slim 20-19 lead with 8 minutes to play.  The Jayhawks then went on a run and broke the stalemate, leading to a 35-25 halftime lead for the Jayhawks. 

The second half saw both teams answering each other's offensive performances and the Panthers had closed to within 2 points with 11 minutes left to play.  Then, clutch 3 pointers by #21 Brandon Banna and #10 Derek Ice (Bronx) helped the Jayhawks fend off the Panthers as up until the last 2 minutes of play, the Panthers kept within 6 points of less of the Jayhawks, but the Jayhawks held on to down the Panthers 75-68. 

The Jayhawks were led by #4 Michael Bush (Harlem) who had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists; #10 Derek Ice (Bronx) had 17 points and 4 assists; #32 Brandon Kemp (Brooklyn) had 15 points and 7 rebounds; #34 Jean Toussaint had a monster game with a double double including 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks; #21 Brandon Banna had 6 points and 6 rebounds; and #12 Tyler Moffe had 4 points.
