MONACA, Pa. — Mikel Bush's short jumper hit the rim and bounced out with three seconds left as Jamestown Community College lost by one point to Garrett College of Maryland in the NJCAA basketball championship of the Community College of Beaver County Titan Tip-Off Classic on Saturday.

"It was a frustrating day with foul trouble and controversial calls on the dead-ball fouls," said JCC coach George Sisson following a 70-69 defeat to Garrett College.

Garrett College held a 40-32 lead at halftime but with 10 minutes remaining the Jayhawks (1-2) battled back to take a 55-52 lead.

Both teams shot well from the foul line with the Jayhawks converting 25-of-33 and Garrett 21-of-27.  The hosts were 16-of-20 in the first half.

Bush led the Jayhawks in scoring with 17 points followed by Derek Ice with 13 and Jean Toussant with 12.
