Jayhawks to Face the Thunderwolves in the Region 3 Championship Game

JAMESTOWN – Looking for a chance to advance to Districts next weekend, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team first have to take down Niagara County Community College this weekend at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships.

 

The Jayhawks (4-4) have faced the Thunderwolves four times this season, coming away with a 66-65 win for their lone win in the regular-season finale. Redshirt-guard Isaac Allen (Houston, TX/Texas Connection Academy) led the offense with 26 points with sophomore guards Kyle Butler (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool HS) and Kane Kenyon (Surrey, Reigate, England / Three Rivers Academy) each adding 11 points on the night. Butler also chipped in with nine rebounds (4 offense, 5 defense) and six assists.

 

During the four games against NCCC, JCC has averaged 70.5 points per game while shooting 37.3 percent from the floor. Allen averages 18.5 points per game against the Thunderwolves with Butler and Kenyon averaging 10.8 and 10 points, respectively.

 

On the glass, the Jayhawks have grabbed 42.5 rebounds per game with Butler leading the way with 7.3 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Jake Hougan (Chardon, OH/Chardon HS) is second on the team with 5.3 rebounds with Henry Brown, Jr. (Bushkill, PA East Stroudsburg HS North) and Karl Jeyseus (West Palm Beach, FL/ Someset Academy Canyons) each chipping in with 4.3 boards per game.

 

The last time these teams face, the Thunderwolves were led by Justin Hendrick and Taylor Sanders with 11 points each on the offensive end. On the glass, Zechariah Harris-Scott had a game-high 10 rebounds (1 offense, 9 defense).

 

NCCC has averaged 86.3 points per game against JCC while shooting 45.1 perce3nt from the floor. The Jayhawks will have to lock-up Kailee White, who averages 14.5 points per game. Adam Hosseni and Jamond Jones average just over 10 points per contest.

 

On the boards, the Thunderwolves average 45 rebounds against JCC. Allen Forham leads the way with five rebounds per game while three other players average just over four board per contest.
