JCC Men Stumble in Opener as they fall to Lakeland CC

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks opened the season with a setback as they fell 75-68 at home to Lakeland Community College.

Jamestown struggled from the field in this one, knocking down just five of 20 threes in the game.

The difficulty from the field saw them fall behind 36-42 at the half. Lakeland built a 12-point lead early in the second half before the Jayhawks made a charge behind a team-high 15 from freshman Iverson Plaza (Brooklyn, NY / Trinity Pawling School). He was joined in double-digits by Jhamien Smith (Erie, PA / Erie HS), Aubrey Nicholson (Brooklyn, NY / Boys and Girls HS), Jalyn Moorehead (Rochester, NY / Southerland HS) who all scored 12 on the night.

The loss knocks JCC to 0-1 on the year. Jamestown is back on the home court on Saturday, November 4th, when they host Herkimer at noon.
