Jayhawks Look to Steal One at NCCC

JAMESTOWN – Looking to build of their win from this past weekend, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team will hit the road to play Niagara County Community College tomorrow evening.

 

The Jayhawks (2-3, 0-2 WNYAC) are coming off a 78-73 win over Villa Maria College on Sunday afternoon. JCC erased an 11-point comeback to secure the victory.

 

JCC had four scorers reach double-digits with Isaac Allen (Houston, TX/Texas Connection Academy) leading the way with 23 points on 8-for-13 (61.5 percent) shooting from the field. Joseph Okonoboh (Boston, MA/Bradford Christian Academy) added 12 points each. Josiah Ransom (Orange Park, FL/Helena HS) scored a career-high 10 points on the afternoon, going 5-for-8 62.5 percent) from the floor.

 

Ransom led the way on the glass for JCC, grabbing eight rebounds (3 offense, 5 defense) with Jake Hougan (Chardon, OH/Chardon HS) and Kyle Butler (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool HS) adding five boards each. Butler seemed to be everywhere on the court as he had seven assists and five steals to cap off his day.

 

This will be the third meeting between the two teams where JCC is averaging 61.5 points per game while shooting 32.8 percent from the floor. Allen is averaging 18.5 points in the two games with Okonoboh adding eight points.

 

On the glass, the Jayhawks are averaging 43 rebounds with four players grabbing five boards per game.

 

The Thunderwolves are coming off their first loss of the season this past Sunday, falling to Allegany College of Maryland by the score of 90-78. Jamond Jones led the offensive attack with 18 points with Kailee White adding 14 points.

 

In their two games against the Jayhawks, NCCC is averaging 87 points per game where White leads the way with 17 points per contest. Adam Hosseini is second on the team with 14.5 points per game.

 

On the glass, NCCC is averaging 48.5 rebounds with five players averaging five boards per contest.
