Men's Basketball to Play at Villa Maria on Sunday

JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Community College men's basketball team will be back on the road tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Villa Maria College.

 

The Jayhawks (1-3, 0-2 WNYAC) are coming off a tough home loss against Region 3 foe Niagara County Community College, 102-69. JCC was led offensively by Isaac Allen (Houston, TX/Texas Connection Academy) with 16 points including 10 free throws made on the night. Joseph Okonoboh (Boston, MA/Bradford Christian Academy)  added 12 points with Kane Kenyon (Surrey, Regiate, England/Three Rivers Academy) chipped in with 10 points. On the glass, Jake Hougan (Chardon, OH/Chardon HS) had a game-high seven boards (0 offense, 7 defense) with Kenyon adding five boards (1 offense, 4 defense).

 

On the season, JCC is averaging 75.5 points per game while making 38.8 percent of their shots from the floor.Allen is leading the way with 21.3 points per game with Okonoboh and Hougan adding over nine points per game.

 

On the glass, the Jayhawks are averaging 40.3 rebounds per game. Hougan leads the way with six boards per game with Kyle Butler (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool HS) and Henry Brown, Jr. (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg HS North) adding five boards each per contest.

 

JCC faces a Vikings team with a record of 1-7 and are coming off a 90-87 overtime loss against Bryant & Stratton Syracuse this past Wednesday. Villa Maria was led offensively by Kevin Goode with 27 points with Tim Payne adding 18 points off the bench. On the boards, Nolan Shephard and Master Radford grabbed 10 rebounds each. Goode also added 11 assists.

 

As a team, the Vikings are averaging 79.8 points per game, shooting 44.3 percent from the field. Juwan Beale is averaging 21 points per contest Goode averaging 13.9 points per game while adding 6.9 assists per game. As a team, Villa Maria is averaging 18.4 assists per game.

 

On the glass, the Vikings are averaging 38.6 rebounds per game. Master Radford leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game. Villa Maria has three players that average five boards per contest.
