Jayhawks Seek First Win of The Season

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Community College men's basketball team will look to get their first win of the season as they travel to Lackawanna College this Saturday.

 

The Jayhawks (0-2, 0-1 WNYAC) are coming off a 72-54 loss at Niagara County Community College this past Wednesday. In the game, Isaac Allen (Houston, TX/Texas Connection Academy) led the team in scoring, dropping 21 points. Karl Jayseus (West Palm Beach, FL/Someset Academy Canyons) ahd a team-high eight rebounds (4 offense, 4 defense) in the game.

 

The last time JCC faced the Falcons, The Falcons came away with an 88-83 win. Allen led all scorers with 28 points with Henry Brown, Jr. (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg HS North) adding 18 points. Kyle Butler (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool HS) facilitated the offense, setting a new career-high 14 assists during the game as well.

 

On the year, JCC is averaging 68.5 points per game while shooting 36.8 percent from the floor. On the boards, the Jayhawks are averaging 38.5 rebounds per game.

 

Allen is leading the way in scoring on the season, averaging 24.5 points per game with Brown, Jr. and Jacob Hougan (Chardon, OH/Chardon HS) with nine points per contest. On the glass, Brown, Jr. leads the way with nine rebounds per game while four players are averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.

 

In their last meeting against the Jayhawks, the Falcons were led offensively by Seam Emfinger with 21 points with Malik Smith adding 15 points. Four players led the way on the glass, grabbing six boards each.

 

On the year, the Falcons are averaging 76.3 points per game while shooting 40.1 percent from the floor. On the glass, Lackawanna averages 34 rebounds per game.

 

Emfinger leads the offense for Lackawanna, averaging 13 points per game with Smith adding 10 points per contest. The Falcons have three players averaging just over five rebounds per game with Ahmir Ellzy leading the way with 5.8 rebounds.
