Jayhawks look to steal one on the road at MCC tomorrow night

JAMESTOWN – Fresh off their win over Mercyhurst North East, the Jamestown Community College men’s basketball team will be back at it tomorrow evening at Monroe Community College.

 

The Jayhawks (8-14, 1-7 WNYAC) are coming off an 83-81 win over the Saints this past Saturday. IN the contest, all five starters reached double digits in scoring with Jordan Thomas leading the way with 24 points. Jake Hougan had a solid day on the court, finishing with 10 points and six rebounds (3 offense, 3 defense).

 

The last time the Jayhawks me MCC, the Tribunes came away with a 75-63 win. During the contest, Thomas led the way with 22 points with Kyle Butler adding 14 points. Thomas also led the team in rebounds with seven boards (3 offense, 4 defense). Donathan Daniels had a good day distributing the ball, coming away with five assists.

 

In conference action, Jamestown has scored 72.6 points per game while shooting 39.8 percent from the floor. Thomas continues to lead the team through conference action, scoring 21.9 points per game. Sheick Kourmora has also been a good option on offense, scoring 15.3 points per game. Butler has come on strong as of late, scoring just under 10 points per game.

 

On the glass, the Jayhawks are grabbing 32.8 rebounds per game in conference action. Thomas is also leading the way in that category, grabing 7.1 rebounds per contest. Hougan is second on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game.

 

JCC will face a Tribunes team with a season record of 10-14 and a conference record of 3-3. MCC is coming off a 92-66 win over Bryant & Stratton this past Monday. In the contest, MCC had five players score in double figures with Austin James leading the way with 15 points. On the glass, Jamahl Humbert came away with 13 rebounds (4 offense, 9 defense).

 

The last time they face the Jayhawks, they had three players scored double digits with Naeqwan Tomlin leading the way with 22 points and Willard Anderson adding 21 points. On the glass, Tomlin lead the way with 12 rebounds (6offense, 6 defense). Keysean Faulkner-Smith was a force in the paint of the defensive end, rejecting five shots.

 

In conference action, the Tribunes are scoring 71.7 points per game while shooting 39.3 percent from the field. Anderson leads the way with 16.8 points per game with Tomlin adding 15 points per game.

 

On the glass, MCC grabs 43.7 rebounds per game. Tomlin leads the category with 11.8 rebounds per game.
